The Precision Lab. Foundation First. Precision Always.

Secondary Maths · Singapore · MOE Syllabus

Your child isn't bad at maths. The foundation cracked somewhere.

The Precision Lab is a small-group secondary maths tuition built on one idea: Fix the foundation before it gets hard. Concept first, then questions, so the next problem doesn't scare them.

Small-group secondary maths, max 8 a class, with a written report from me every month, so you're never guessing how your child is doing.

Our biggest difference

More than a grade:
A monthly progress report

Most parents only find out how their child is really doing when exam results come back, and by then it's often too late to change course. At The Precision Lab, every parent receives a written progress report each month, so you always know exactly where your child stands.

It goes beyond marks. I share how your child is growing as a learner: their focus and attention span in class, their attitude and effort, the topics they've mastered, the ones still shaky, and precisely what we'll work on next.

No surprises, no guessing. Just a clear, honest picture of your child's progress, every single month.

Monthly Report Every month
  • Progress & understanding this month
  • Focus & attention span in class
  • Attitude & effort towards learning
  • Topics mastered and ones still shaky
  • What we'll work on next month

Why parents choose us

Not another big class where your child gets lost

Most tuition just "goes through the answers." Students follow along in class, then freeze the moment a question changes. We teach the steps and the thinking behind them.

🔍

Diagnose, then target

We find exactly where the foundation cracked and pour time there, not a one-size-fits-all worksheet for everyone.

🧠

Concept before questions

Your child understands what's actually going on first. A slightly different question stops being scary.

👥

Max 8 per class

Small on purpose. Every student gets seen, corrected, and pushed. No hiding at the back.

🤝

Mentor, not enforcer

Motivation beats fear. We keep students wanting to improve, and that's what makes the grades stick.

🧱

Fix the foundation

Our whole motto. Build a solid base now so the harder topics later don't collapse the whole thing.

💡

Earn the eureka

We guide; we don't spoonfeed. The "I got it myself" moment is where real learning, and confidence, comes from.

Thank you for believing in him and making learning something he could genuinely enjoy again. We are truly grateful for everything you've done.

He explains concepts clearly and never gets frustrated, even when I need things repeated. He encourages me to keep trying, which makes me want to do Maths instead of hating it.

The tutor

Taught by someone who's been the struggling student

I'm Maier. I failed my Sec 4 prelims, cried, and apologised to my mum for letting her down. She told me not to be sorry to her, but to be sorry to myself, because I was doing it for myself. That changed everything.

I turned my grades around by studying smarter, not harder. Now every student I take, I'm becoming the tutor I wish I'd had.

A recent comeback

A student wouldn't touch his homework for six months. Strictness failed. I switched to mentoring him instead, and watched him go from giving up to actually wanting to improve.

Motivation & relationship beat fear. Every time.

Questions parents ask

Good to know

My child is really weak. Is he too far behind?

No. Almost every student I take starts by saying "I don't know how to do." Nobody starts from zero. There's always something they already know, and we build from there. The diagnostic tells us exactly where that starting point is.

My child is doing okay. Would this even help?

Often yes, and this is the group I'd most want to catch. A student scoring in the middle is usually compensating for a gap rather than not having one. Fixing it now is far easier than fixing it in Sec 4.

Can we try one lesson first?

Start with the free diagnostic. It tells you more than a trial lesson would, because you'll get a written breakdown of exactly what's going on rather than an impression.

The timings clash with his CCA.

Message me. Most levels run more than once a week and I'll find something that fits.

Do you follow the school's pace or your own?

Both. We stay aligned with what school is covering so he's never lost in class, but we fix the foundation underneath at the same time, because that's what's actually causing the trouble.

What if my child doesn't get along with you?

You'll both know after the diagnostic. That's part of why it exists.

What happens next

From here, it's four simple steps

Start with a free diagnostic

In 45 minutes I'll find the exact topic your child's maths broke at and write it up for you, whether or not you ever book a lesson. No cost, no obligation, no pitch at the end.
